I have read many amazing books by many amazing indie authors that deserve more time in the spotlight. So, this is where I introduce you to your next (probably favorite) indie read.

Tell Me Something Real‍ ‍by author Rachae Stevens, which is book 1 in the Runaway series, has been my first and only 5 star read of 2026. I was fortunate enough to receive and ARC copy and I instantly fell in love with the story and the characters. If you want a story that literally makes you laugh out loud, but also makes you go from tiny tears to complete sobs, then you need to read Tell Me Something Real. I won’t give too much away, but runaway bride meets ex-military man — yes, please! This book definitely gives off “Invisible String” by Taylor Swift vibes. I highly recommend reading this and soon because book 2 comes out Spring of 2027. I will now leave you with a quote from the book. Until then, keep turning the page 🤍
