Welcome to The Reading Room! I’m so happy you’re here.
This is my little corner of the internet where we can talk about all things bookish — from the books I’m currently reading and loving to the ones I can’t stop thinking about, bookish opinions, recommendations, reading lists, indie authors, and the stories waiting to be discovered. You’ll get a glimpse into me as a reader, my very honest opinions, and maybe even a few books that end up on your TBR. I’ll share what I’m reading, what I’m loving, what I’m not and everything in between. And yes, I’ll absolutely try to influence your TBR along the way.
One of the things I care deeply about is giving Indie Authors a place to be discovered. I don’t love every book or every genre — and no reader does, but I believe every author deserves the opportunity to find the readers who are looking for their story. That means you will see indie authors and their books featured here, even when I haven’t personally read the book. These features aren’t meant to tell you that I’ve read or personally recommend. every book you see. They are an invitation to discover a new author, learn about their story, and decide whether their book might be the next one for you.
At the same time, not every book will be fit for The Reading Room. While I want to make space for as many indie authors as I can, I will always filter the books and authors I feature through my own code of conduct. I will not intentionally promote books or authors whose content or conduct crosses those boundaries. This includes things such as the romanticization or glorification of forced intimacy or sexual violence, hateful or discriminatory content, and other material that fundamentally conflicts with the standards of Beyond The Cover Co.
That doesn’t mean every book featured here will be something I personally enjoy, it simply means there are certain lines I won’t cross when deciding what I put in front of this community.
If I have personally read a book, you’ll find Read & Reviewed as a part of the category on the post.
At the end of the day, I want the Reading Room to be a place where readers discover new stories and indie authors find new readers.
So grab a cozy seat, settle in, and let’s talk books.
I’ll try to keep updating this space at least a few times a week. If I miss a day, forgive me — I’m only human.
